Hi, I am a PhD Student in the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, University of Maryland at College Park. Currently I am working as a full time Graduate Research Assistant in Robotics, Automation, Manipulation and Sensing (RAMS) Laboratory, supervised by Professor Jaydev P. Desai.
EDUCATION
- Phd candidate, Mechanical Engineering, University of Maryland, College Park (Jan 2007 - present)
- M.S. Mechanical Engineering, Drexel University, GPA:
3.95/4.0 (Sep 2003 - Dec 2006)
- B.Tech, Mechanical Engineering, National Institute
of Technology, Warangal, India, First Class with Distinction (Sep 1998
- June 2002)
RESEARCH
- Current
- Characterized the mechanical property of mouse embryonic stem cells.
- Developed a haptics-enabled atomic force microscopy (AFM) system that can be used to manipulate an individual cell.
- Previous
- Devised polypyyrrole based hexagonal microgripper for holding an individual biological cell.
- Established an automated cell injection system with force feedback capabilty and tested the system with 40 human subjects.
- Developed a force feedback interface which measures forces in the range of mN-µN and provides haptic display of the cell injection forces to the operator.
- Designed piezoresistive sensor circuit for an automated laparoscopic grasper which measures forces encountered in grasping/ probing a tissue.
